Blake is my preferred inspector for many reasons. He very obviously loves what he does and it shows! He consistently goes far above and beyond the minimum requirements for inspections, and is always extremely responsive to any and all questions from all sides of a transaction. He also has an edge on the competition with all of his top of line gadgets to detect the normal things that are often missed. My favorite part is his report is reviewed ON SITE in his rolling conference center, and he is always willing and eager to spend time going over the details and answering any questions there may be.

I can’t say enough good things about Blake at Inspekt! He was very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions completely. This company is the most detailed you have ever seen, not to mention getting a inspection from a company that doesn’t look for your interest, would be a mistake. INSPEKT (Blake) completed an inspection for me on a home that I will be purchasing later this month. The process was very thorough and utilized a variety of high-end equipment. Upon completion, a draft of Blake’s findings was presented in a mobile office to which he drove to the inspection site, and a final version was emailed just a few hours afterwards. He willingly answered questions about a few concerns that I had, and openly shared his thoughts on the condition of the home.

Blake from Inspekt is very professional, easy to talk too, and wonderful to work with. His inspection was exactly what we needed, even though, we didn’t want to hear it. Having a house that you want to buy, love location, and are being told by the owners that it has all been rebuilt from the floor joists up (in this case, it was actually MISSING a main floor joist). This is important information for a buyer. There was so much wrong with this house, we would have bought a money pit that’s full of mold, wood eating beetles, all the windows were screwed shut, piggy backs on the breaker box, too much to list here. The inspection was extensive, and spot on. Thank you, Blake, we appreciate your honest, non-bias view. Also, thank you for saving us thousands. Will recommend to family and friends. We will be repeat customers, and will be calling on Blake very soon to inspect our forever home. Our new rule…Must Be Blake Approved!!! Only after that, we will get excited!!!

This is the second time in the past 9 months that I’ve used Inspekt. Blake is amazing. He is super knowledgeable and has top of the line equipment. His mold inspection is worth it as it’ll ensure your home is safe from the unseen. He’ll conduct air quality samples and use thermal imaging to ensure no invisible sources are an issue. We are trying to buy an older house and so were REALLY focused on the most thorough inspection we could find. After going online and reading Blake’s reviews he was obviously a top contender due to all the things his inspection offers such as thermal imaging for heat loss and unseen leaks to sewer guard protection upto $4000. If that wasn’t good enough then please pay attention to the next part. Because his schedule was so full (as it would be for someone who offers the level of quality that he does) he offered to squeeze us in on EASTER SUNDAY in order to help us out. It’s not that he doesn’t appreciate his family time – or a special holiday – it’s that we were really in a (self imposed) bind time wise – and he wanted to help us out. Have you ever seen someone devoted to his work and his customers?? I haven’t. Now to the inspection – he arrived on time from 2 hours away and spent a very thorough 3 hours on the home checking EVERYTHING!! He then gave us a very professional (think corporate level) PowerPoint presentation in the back of his state of the art mobile inspection truck that was bigger than my old NY apartment (don’t be alarmed – his prices are right in line with everyone else – not that I wouldn’t have paid more given the level of service I received). The resulting inspection found some solid issues for discussion between ourselves and the seller and I guess we’ll see how that goes but, for now, please choose Blake because, on top of everything else he offers, he caps it off with a FREE (2 hour drive) re-inspection. Blake was awesome! He inspected for me in Indiana and I’m in Texas. He provided me with a thorough report without overwhelming me to the point of terror. He did my inspection the day before Thanksgiving. I got my report Thanksgiving morning when he could have reasonably said he was busy. He still took time for me and because of that I was able to do what I needed to do for the home I’m considering. I couldn’t have chosen a better inspector.

Blake was awesome. Professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He caught things I never would’ve thought to look at! He found problems within five minutes getting to the house, which is good…and bad depending how you look at it… But he was fantastic. The final report he gave us was thorough and easy to comprehend. After the inspection he sat down with us and went over all the major issues. So not only was he knowledgeable, but he was also very customer-oriented and answered all of our questions as best as he could. 5/5, will definitely recommend him and use his service again.

Wow! I’ve had several home inspections performed for me over the last thirty years and nobody has ever come close to Blake’s inspection in regards to thoroughness and utilization of the latest technology. The seller’s disclosure made no mention of waste plumbing backing up or potential septic system failure. Luckily we made our offer contingent on a ‘satisfactory inspection’ and we were able to walk away from what could have been the total replacement of an entire septic system plus having to re-plumb the home. Blake’s detailed testing and infrared photos saved us $10k -$15k in probable costs above the purchase price of that home. My professional background is in high energy physics and engineering and I was totally satisfied and very impressed by our Inspekt Home Inspection. Thanks Blake!

Every item was perfectly identified with varying levels of risk, which gave my wife and I the report we needed to go back to the sellers and requests specific High risk areas to be repaired. As a first time homebuyer, I wanted to make sure I was protecting myself and making the best choice for my new home. Blake with Inspekt helped me put all my fears to rest. He was thorough, professional, and timely. Blake was patient and answered all of my questions. Inspekt’s thermal imager showed a leak in an upstairs bathroom that otherwise would have gone unnoticed. I received the inspection report back the same day as the inspection! It was very easy to read and included pictures for further clarification. Blake has completed home inspections on two properties for me this year (the first of which fell through due to complications), and he did an excellent job with both. As a first-time home buyer, I had very little idea of what to watch out for when looking at a home and how to find issues that would require repair. His reports are broken down into two categories – issues that require resolution in the short-term, and issues that are not immediate concerns but should be monitored in the future and could be resolved at a later point in time. It was very detailed and laid out in such a way that a home-repairs novice like myself could easily understand it. And one of the unique aspects of Blake’s service that no other inspection company that I am aware of provides is a free re-inspection after the seller has completed requested repairs. If you’re shopping for a home inspection now or in the future, Blake’s your guy!

As first time home buyers the inspection process can be a little nerve-wracking. Blake provided us with a very positive experience and left us feeling comfortable with his expertise and professionalism. He was extremely thorough in his inspection and spent the time it took to diagnose any and all defects of the house. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and didn’t hesitate to answer any questions we may have had. He set up a projector in the garage and gave us a presentation of his findings and recommendations, as well as a 53 page detailed report of the inspection complete with pictures and potential solutions. He even provided links for places the seller can purchase the parts needed for some of the repairs. By far the best in the business! We wouldn’t want to go with any other home inspector. And to top it all off, he comes back for a free re-inspection after the seller finishes fixing the house. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We recently used Blake for a home inspection in which he did an excellent job. He spent 3 hours going through the entire house from top to bottom, including things as small as how the doors latched. We received the final report that day which was broken into sections of serious problems and things that could use fixing which made it easy to navigate. It also included pictures of absolutely everything, including the thermal imaging. The price was fantastic as well. Blake was professional, kind and wonderful to work with.

If your realtor does not recommend Inspekt, it’s because they are afraid of what Blake will find. He is by far the most honest, thorough, and knowledgeable home inspector in Columbus, and probably the entire region.

I found Inspekt by recommendation from a friend and the online reviews, which I thought were too good to be true. Now here I am, adding one more 5-star rating for his superior service. His inspection took over 3 hours using very advanced technology. He will not rush the job. He is not collaborating with a realtor to push the home sale on you. He is not afraid to get dirty and explore that creepy crawlspace under our 100-year old house. My report from Inspekt is over 60 pages long and includes detailed photos and suggestions for how to proceed with repairs (AKA the biggest honey-do list ever!). The base inspection price is an incredible value for a normal home inspection, but Blake at Inspekt goes above and beyond.

I am so glad I selected Inspekt for my home inspection. Blake exceeded my expectations, and provided a very thorough inspection. If it was part of the house, he climbed on top of it, crawled under it, and if it was dark, such as the crawlspaces, he used lights and flash photography to assess the condition. Oh, and he also used thermal imaging. The report he provided immediately afterwards was very thorough, and included all photos he had taken. He is also very friendly and professional.

Blake Spann spent at least 4 hours on the inspection of our 1416 SF house. He was very thorough and professional. He started before we arrived, spending time examining the roof and exterior. Blake spent time in every room of the house, looking at even the smallest details (like the fact a soap dispenser was empty). In the end we knew we had a very good report on the condition of the house. He was easy to talk to and readily explained what he was looking for in each space. He went far above and beyond what any inspector we’ve worked with in the past has done and we greatly appreciate the information we now have as a result.

Absolutely the best I inspector I have met. We bought an older home and there were a lot of little things that were wrong and INSPEKT did not miss a single one. Our inspection report was over 60 pages long and included not only pictures of things that were wrong with the house, but CAD drawings of how they should be fixed to be correct! I attended the inspection as well, and Blake and I crawled into every nook and cranny of that house. He was very professional and personable. He explained everything to my wife and I, and answered all of our questions. He even gave my daughter a coloring book and a certificate to hang on her wall that certified our home as “Monster Free.” He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Best in the business by far. He also emailed me about a month after the inspection just to see how things were going. And his rates are the same or less than anyone else in the area. I feel like I got much more than my money’s worth from this INSPEKT. I have spread their fliers and cards all around town and I would recommend INSPEKT to anyone thinking of buying or selling a home. He had a good arsenal of tools and technology and tools at his disposal to dig deeper than strictly a visual check. Blake is a very professional and personable business owner. He was very informative throughout the inspection process and had no problem showing and letting me follow him through the home and seeing firsthand the issues he was finding. He had some very good pointers as well as tips and tricks for general home maintenance and small repairs. I feel Blake went above and beyond the general home inspection with how thorough he was with the smallest of things. He made sure to open every window, every door, operated every appliance, checked every faucet, inspected all available plumbing for any signs of leaks or damage, and also performed a whole home review with his thermal imaging. Some of the perks Blake offers such has the thermal imaging are unmatched and are a great way to view potential or unseen issues as well as any possible thermal loss issues. At the end of the inspection he provided a book with some great information for home ownership and maintenance as well as a very comprehensive report with pictures of everything from the roof to the kitchen sink! I will be using Blake again for any home inspection needs.

Blake worked for me in the Home Inspection industry in Florida. He was one of the very best employees that I have ever had. His knowledge, work ethic and overall caring for whatever he does reflects in his everyday life. As a home inspector, I keep trying to bribe him to come back! That is how good he is, but his family commitment in Indiana is just the kind of guy he is. There would be absolutely no hesitation to use Blake. His knowledge, desire to be the best and most importantly he cares. This is not a job for him, it is a profession and every job has his name on it, which means very much to him. Excellent inspector. Blake walked through the home with us to understand our biggest points of concern and answered all of the questions we had for him with a great attitude of collaboration and partnership. He did a tremendously thorough job in the home, spending at least a few hours on site, and the resulting report was unusually thorough – our landlord relatives who own 60+ properties and have had about that many inspections had never seen such a thorough inspection report. In the end, Blake’s report gave us the tools we needed to get tens of thousands of dollars off the purchase price of our fixer-upper home. We have been recommending his work to everyone we know who’s in the market for an inspector.

I was referred to Blake by my realtor and I am glad I hired Blake. He reached the house to be inspected ahead of time. I liked his setup. he has a van with all the tools to deliver a great job on the go. For a young lad, Blake is thoroughly professional and highly knowledgeable. Blake was very through and spent close to 8 hours on my house. This was my second house and I was not expecting him to spend that much time (considering how little time an inspector from another company spent on my first house). He looked at every nook and corner and was able to capture minute details. I was amazed at how committed he was. He went up to inspect the attic and came down covered with dirt and insulation. I liked his equipment for Radon testing which is more accurate than the others. He even offered free radon, recall check and re-inspection that the price. Like others have mentioned, he also brought his thermal imaging equipment that came in handy. His report was very thorough and very nicely prepared. His inspection report was instrumental for me going back to the seller and negotiating a new roof before closing. All in all I am more than happy and would highly recommend Blake and Home Inspekt.

Blake went above and beyond our expectations during the inspection of the property we are in the process of buying. We feel his attention to detail was excellent. Blake was very professional and personable in his service. He was also very thorough in his inspection, not rushing just to make a quick buck. Upon inspection he discovered we had very high levels of the cancer causing radioactive chemical radon in our home. We are now working to fix it. I had a home inspection done by Inspekt and Blake left no stone unturned. From the attic to the crawl space he noted every discrepancy. He even noted an older problem which had been taken care of in the past but the home owner had not yet disclosed. His report was accurate and complete with photos. When you couple a professional work ethic with a mobile lab that has up to date equipment like Blake Spann has and utilizes, satisfaction is a guaranty. If and when I needed another home inspection Inspekt would be first on my call list.
